The Coach is in NOW!

Who should you choose and why.

When it comes to growing leaders, building high performance teams and developing exceptional organizations the question often arises, “who should I hire?”

Trainers are skill developers.  They lecture, role play and discuss skills for a particular discipline within the company.  The most prominent discipline for trainers is sales followed by technical, human resource and compliance.

Consultants provide expertise that is currently not available within the company.  Consultants are subject matter experts who provide a Strategic Plan based on their best practices.  It becomes the responsibility of the company to implement such a plan and/or to contract more consultants to be insourced to carry out operational roles.

Mentors are more experienced or more knowledgeable people who help to guide a less experienced or less knowledgeable person. Mentors are often retired or years removed from the operational role in which their protégé is operating.  Mentors are approached for their bigger picture/philosophical views on an occasional basis.

Coaches are certified, degreed professionals who partner with their clients on a regularly scheduled basis. Coaches use the Socratic Processes to challenge and support their clients to achieve highly desirable outcomes for personal challenges, enhanced decision-making skills, greater interpersonal effectiveness, and increased confidence.

Advisors are a unique blend of Consultant and Mentor.  An advisor is normally a person with more and deeper knowledge in a specific area and usually also includes persons with cross functional and multidisciplinary expertise. Advisors are most often operationally in either a role in an active company and/or with early stage start-ups.
